This Privacy Policy covers our collection, use and disclosure of information Veelo, Inc. (“Veelo”, “We”, “Our”, “Us”) collect through our website, www.veeloinc.com and our service Veelo, including any versions optimized for viewing on a wireless or tablet device; and all other apps, interactive features and communications provided by Veelo, e.g. e-mail newsletters or communications, however accessed and/or used, that are operated by Veelo, made available by Veelo, or produced and maintained by Veelo (“Veelo Site”). This Privacy Policy sets out our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing that personal data collected through the Veelo Site.

By using the Veelo Site, you are accepting the practices described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Veelo Site. Subject to applicable law, We reserve the right to modify or amend the terms of our Privacy Policy from time to time without notice. Your continued use of our Veelo Site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes. If we intend to apply the modifications or amendments to this Privacy Policy retroactively or to personal information already in our possession, we will provide you with notice of the modifications or amendments. User Data

Veelo respects the privacy of our Account Users and the privacy of their data. All user information contained within the electronic communications, attached documents, forms, newsletters, surveys and documents you may use or compose with Veelo or on or through the Veelo Site are governed by this Privacy Policy. Although Veelo owns the data storage, databases and the Veelo Site, you retain all rights to your data. We will not sell, or rent your data uploaded into our system and only the registered users of the account holder may gain access to the uploaded data.

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), you may opt-in to receiving the newsletter and we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. You may choose to stop receiving our newsletter by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails or you can contact us at privacy@veeloinc.com.

As explained below, we collect and process personal data in various ways depending upon your use of the Veelo Site. We collect and process personal data on the following legal bases: (1) with your consent; (2) as necessary to perform our agreement to provide the services you request; and (3) as necessary for our legitimate interests in providing the Veelo Site where those interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedom related to data privacy.

 

Data Collection

We collect the e-mail addresses and certain personal information of those who communicate with us via e-mail or register with us to open a provisioned Service Account. We also collect certain personal and non-personal information regarding which pages users access or visit, and information volunteered by the users (such as any surveys Veelo might conduct and/or site registrations). When you request a Veelo account, we ask for the following information: your name, your company name, and a valid e-mail address at which we may contact you. Users of the Veelo service are also asked to provide their time zone to better personalize their Account.

We may receive information about you from other sources, including publicly available databases or third parties from whom we have purchased data, and combine this data with information we already have about you.  This helps us to update, expand and analyze our records, identify new customers, and provide products and services that may be of interest to you.  If you provide us personal information about others, or if others give us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.

Veelo may also collect and analyze from visitors and users certain non-personal information regarding the use of the Veelo Site and services available therein. Such non-personal information collected may include but is not limited to internet location, web site traffic volume, frequency of visits, type and time of transactions, type of browser and operating system, etc.

 

Use of Information

Veelo will use personal information only in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. Veelo will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is relevant to its intended use, accurate, complete and current.

We may use personal information to provide the services you’ve requested, including services that display customized e-mails, newsletters, forms, documents, and reports. We may also use personal information for auditing, research and analysis to operate and improve the services you receive from the Veelo Site. We may use certain other information collected from you to help diagnose technical problems, administer the Veelo Site, and improve the quality and types of services that may be delivered to you.

We may provide non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information derived from the actions of our visitors and Account holders to third parties in order to demonstrate the value we deliver to users.

We may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities such as live chat or payment processing. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us and we require that such third parties comply with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. For data received under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, Veelo will obtain appropriate assurances from its agents that they will safeguard personal data consistent with this Policy. Examples of appropriate assurances that may be provided by agents include the following: a contract obligating the agent to provide at least the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield, its own EU-U.S Privacy Shield certification, or another European Commission adequacy finding.

The information we collect is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes, except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, legal proceedings, or similar legal process
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request,
  • in certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements,
  • to investigate potential violations of the Veelo Acceptable Use Policy,
  • to investigate potential violations of the Veelo Terms of Service,
  • to any other third party with your prior consent to do so.
  • if Veelo, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

Veelo will offer you the opportunity to choose (opt-out) whether your data is to be used for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by you. You may opt-out of such uses of your personal data by contacting us at the address given below.

Veelo will not use sensitive personal data for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected, or subsequently authorized by you, without first receiving your affirmative and explicit consent (opt-in). Veelo will treat as sensitive any personal data received from a third party where the third party identifies and treats it as sensitive.

Links to Other Web Sites

Our Site includes links to other Web sites whose privacy practices may differ from those of Veelo. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any Web site you visit.

How to Limit the Use of Your Information

In many instances, you have choices about the information you provide and how we use your information. These choices and any related consequences are described in detail below.

Marketing Emails: When you create an account through the Veelo Site or sign up for certain communications, you are required to provide us with an accurate email address through which we may contact you. Based on the choices you made when you registered we may use your email address to communicate with you about offerings from us, our selected vendors, and partners. While you cannot opt-out of receiving notifications and other communications regarding your account or your transactions, you can always opt- out of receiving promotional and other marketing emails from us by: (1) using the “unsubscribe” feature in our marketing emails; (2) clicking unsubscribe here; or (3) contacting us at privacy@veeloinc.com.

Third-Party Service Providers/Business Partners/Affiliates/Subsidiaries: You can always rescind your consent to share your information with third-party service providers, business partners, affiliates or subsidiaries by contacting us at privacy@veeloinc.com.

Location Tracking: Most mobile devices allow you to control or disable the use of precise location services by any application on your mobile device through the device’s settings’ menu.

Do Not Track: Your browser or device may include “Do Not Track” functionality. Our information collection and disclosure practices, and the choices that we provide to visitors, will continue to operate as described in this Privacy Policy, whether or not a Do Not Track signal is received.

Online Tracking and Interest-Based Advertising Choices: You also have choices to limit some tracking mechanisms that collect information when you use the Veelo Site. Many web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser’s setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, certain features of the Veelo Site, including the Veelo Site themselves, may not function properly or remain accessible to you. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., on the Veelo Site. Google Analytics uses cookies or other tracking technologies to help us analyze how users interact with and use the Veelo Site, compile reports on the Veelo Site’s activity, and provide other services related to the Veelo Site’s activity and usage. The technologies used by Google may collect information such as your IP address, time of visit, whether you are a return visitor, and any referring website. The Veelo Site does not use Google Analytics to gather information that personally identifies you. The information generated by Google Analytics will be transmitted to and stored by Google and will be subject to Google’s privacy policies. If any third party advertisers place tracking tools on the Veelo Site, you have additional choices regarding the collection and use of your information. Please note that opting-out of advertising networks services does not mean that you will not receive advertising while using the Veelo Site or on other websites, nor will it prevent the receipt of interest-based advertising from third parties that do not participate in these programs. It will, however, exclude you from interest-based advertising conducted through participating networks, as provided by their policies and choice mechanisms.

Cookies and other Tracking Technologies

Like many sites, Veelo uses technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts to enable certain features and functions of the website and application.  These cookies are necessary to make the Website and/or Application work in the way expected and to allow for correct communication to take place.

  • Essential Functions: Such cookies may include, but are not limited to Logging in/”Remember me” options; Acceptance logging; Managing and passing security tokens to different services within the website; Your website preferences; Content tracking/Content suggesting; Initiating actions you have requested; To route customers to specific versions/applications of the service (e.g, technical migration); and/or Multimedia content player session cookies (such as flash player).
  • Performance: We use these cookies to analyze how people use our service which helps us learn how to make Veelo better. Such cookies may include but are not limited to Web analytics, Error management, A/B testing design, Load balancing session cookies and/or Response rates (click through).
  • Marketing: We collect non-personally identifiable information about your visits to certain pages of Veeloinc.com or social media platforms to offer relevant content to you and for the purpose of serving Veelo ads to you when you log into third-party sites. No Personal Data or identifiable information is shared with a third-party as part of the process.

If you reject cookies, you may still use our website, but your ability to use some features or areas of our website will be limited.

Local Storage Objects (HTML 5)

We use Local Storage Objects (LSOs) such as HTML5 to store content information and preferences. Third parties with whom we partner to provide certain features on our site or to display advertising based upon your Web browsing activity use LSOs such as HTML 5. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5 LSOs.

Analytics/ Log Files

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We do link some of this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. This allows us to deliver a better experience by reducing the amount of data that needs to be entered when filling out forms, downloading gated content, completing surveys, etc.

Behavioral Targeting/ Re-Targeting

We partner with a third party ad network to either display advertising on our Web site or to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and Web beacons to collect non-personal information about your activities on this and other Web sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking Here. Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.

Public Forums/Blogs

Our blog comment section is managed by a third party application that may require you to register to post a comment. We do not have access or control of the information posted to the blog. You will need to contact or login into the third party application if you want the personal information that was posted to the comments section removed. Social Media (Features) and Widgets

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Personal Information in Data Collected through the Veelo Platform

In some cases, Veelo collects information from users at the direction of its clients, and has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal information it processes. Veelo works with its clients to help them provide notice to their users concerning, the purpose for which personal information is collected. Veelo will collect and process your personal information in conformance with the principles outlined in this Privacy Policy.

If you are a customer of one of our clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our clients that use our service, please contact the client that you interact with directly.

 

Security

Veelo has implemented processes intended to protect user information and maintain security of data. Each Account holder is assigned a unique user name and password, which is required to access their Account. It is each user’s responsibility to protect the security of his or her login information. We have attempted to protect Veelo’s servers by locating them in areas with security procedures, using firewalls and implementing other generally available security technologies. These safeguards help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of data, but NO GUARANTEE CAN BE MADE THAT YOUR INFORMATION AND DATA WILL BE SECURE FROM INTRUSIONS AND UNAUTHORIZED RELEASE TO THIRD PARTIES.

When you enter sensitive information (such as login credentials), we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Cancellation or Termination of the Account

If your Account is terminated for any reason, please be aware that Veelo may for a time retain residual information in our backup and/or archival copies of our data stores and databases. We will make reasonable commercial efforts to delete your information as soon as reasonably practical. We will respond to your request to access within 30 business days.

Information for Users Outside the United States

If you use the Veelo Site outside of the United States, you understand that we may collect, process, and store your personal information in the United States and other countries. The laws in the U.S. regarding personal information may be different from the laws of your state or country. Any such transfers will comply with safeguards as required by relevant law. If applicable, you may have a right to claim compensation for damages caused by a breach of relevant data protection laws. When you submit information, you understand that you are transferring such information into the
United States.

Compliance with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

As a business service, Veelo does not target its offerings toward, and does not knowingly collect any personal information from users under 13 years of age. No one under the age of 13 may provide any personal information or register for an account on the Veelo Site. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

California Privacy

If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information regarding the disclosure of your personal information by Veelo, Inc or its subsidiaries to a third party for the third party’s direct marketing purposes. If you are a resident of the EEA or Switzerland, you are entitled to the following rights:

  • The right to request data erasure – you have the right to have your data erased from the Veelo Site if the data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, you withdraw consent and no other legal basis for processing exists, or you believe your fundamental rights to data privacy and protection outweigh our legitimate interest in continuing the processing.
  • The right to restrict or object to our processing – you have the right to restrict or object to our processing if we are processing your data based on legitimate interests or the performance of a task in the public interest as an exercise of official authority (including profiling); using your data for direct marketing (including profiling); or processing your data for purposes of scientific or historical research and statistics.

Accessing and Updating Personal Information

Upon request we will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your personal information. When you use the Veelo, Inc. we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not for legitimate business purposes. You may update your Account information by logging into your Account. When requests come to Veelo with regard to personal information, we ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes), or for which access is not otherwise required. We retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort. We will respond to these requests within a reasonable timeframe.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Recourse, Enforcement and Liability

In compliance with the EU-U.S Privacy Shield, Veelo commits to resolve complaints about privacy and personal data collection or use. EU individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding this Policy should first contact Veelo at the address given below. Veelo will investigate and attempt to resolve such complaints by reference to the principles contained in this Policy.

Veelo is subject to the investigative and enforcement authority of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and is obliged to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, for law enforcement and national security purposes, and has potential liability for onward transfers to third parties. Veelo will conduct compliance audits of its relevant privacy practices to verify
adherence to this Policy. Any employee that Veelo determines is in violation of this policy may be subject to disciplinary action.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our information practices that are consistent with the Privacy Shield Principles. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective.
